Are you not sure on how to connect GoDaddy domain to SiteGround? Worry not! You just have to do some simple steps and you will be able to use the domain you have purchased from GoDaddy to your SiteGround account.




Create website in SiteGround
Before you can connect your domain to SiteGround, you have to make sure that you have a working website in order to get SiteGround’s nameservers. WIthout a working website you won’t be able to access SiteGround’s site tools. Site tools is a web portal where you can manage your site’s domain and other features.

To proceed, you may use temporary subdomain provided by SiteGround. You can delete this subdomain after you have successfully transfer from GoDaddy to SiteGround.
Get SiteGround nameservers
Before you can connect your domain to SiteGround, you need to get its nameservers first. Nameservers are part of a huge database known as the Domain Name System (DNS), it is like a lists of devices and IP addresses attached to them. How does nameserver work? It use this data to convert domain names into numerical IP addresses since it is the only language our computers can understand. Follow bellow steps to copy nameservers from SiteGround;
- Click Website menu
- Go to Site Tools button
- From Site Tools portal, copy Name Servers


Update GoDaddy nameservers
Sign-in to your GoDaddy account and click DNS button. From there, you will be able to add or change GoDaddy’s nameservers. Copy those 2 SiteGround’s nameservers there.


Finally, after you have completed all of these steps you will be able to use your GoDaddy domain in your SiteGround’s account.
